Cosmetic Nail Reconstruction

Cosmetic Nail Reconstruction

Toenail reconstruction is a specialised procedure that combines medical expertise with cosmetic enhancement. Carried out by our qualified podiatrist, it involves the application of a flexible, medical-grade gel to restore the appearance of damaged or missing toenails. When no nail is present, for example due to trauma, surgery, or infection, the gel is sculpted directly onto the nail bed to create a realistic prosthetic nail. Alternatively, it can be applied over discoloured, thickened or misshapen nails to improve their appearance. The result is a natural-looking, durable nail that enhances both comfort and confidence.

Who is Toenail Reconstruction Suitable For?

Toenail reconstruction is suitable for both men and women experiencing a variety of nail concerns. It is ideal for repairing thickened, discoloured, or traumatised nails, as well as nails affected by fungal infections or psoriasis. The procedure can also help reshape nail tufts or spikes left after surgery. It is suitable for diabetics, provided there is no active infection. In cases where no nail is present at all, a prosthetic nail can still be created, though its durability may be reduced compared to reconstruction over an existing nail.
